One...

ONE day...I was just pregnant and the next day I was your momma.

ONE day...you became a nephew

ONE day...you became a grandson

ONE day...you became a great grandson
ONE day...you became our son. Our baby. My baby.

ONE day...you were welcomed into this world
and everyone was excited to finally meet you.
ONE day...you smiled. Oh, do you smile.
I challenge anyone to find me a baby that has smiled MORE than you. They might smile as much, but I would bet money they don't smile more.
ONE day...I realized those stretch marks were there to stay, and my bellybutton had permanently relocated, but that it is oh-so-worth-it.
ONE day...you started to sleep through the night. I remember the last night I went in to feed you. I knew it might be the last, so I held you longer. Rocked you longer. That was it. Gone. In the blink of an eye.
ONE day...you sat up on your own. That day I was happy. I felt like I could get things done. Until...

ONE day...you began to crawl.
ONE day...you began to laugh. And it has been practically my life's mission to make sure you haven't stopped laughing yet.
ONE day...you put a silk flower in your mouth and choked, and then a candy wrapper, and then a marble, and I haven't gotten a good night's sleep since then.
ONE day...you captured your parents hearts. I never knew I could love you so much. I never knew that a piece of my heart could live outside of my body in the form of a lovely, spirited little boy.
ONE day...you began to walk. Each day gaining more independence.
I haven't had a moments rest since.
But that's ok, I'll relax when you're older.
And until then I will soak up every ounce of your childhood,
because ONE day you'll be grown, and this will all be just a sweet memory.
But on this day you are ONE.
And we are celebrating your birth and we are thanking our gracious heavenly Father
for blessing us with you.
Happy Birthday to my little angel baby,
my lump of love,
my stinky face.
We love you more than you could ever know!

How to....

....Eat Ice Cream.
By. Kidd-O

Take a good look at this specimen that your momma gives you.

Test out the consistency...

...Grab a spoon and dig in, baby!

And when the spoon just isn't cuttin' it, a hand will do...

...Or a face

Oh yeah, that's nice!

More please!

My Monday Mind Dump...

1. I've been buying graham crackers lately as a snack for Kidd-O and they've never tasted better...to me! It's like when I work in the nursery at church and those goldfish crackers are staring at me and I snag a few and in that moment I wonder if there is a greater culinary invention on the planet! What is with that?!

2. I'm really wondering why my flippin' neighbor's still have fireworks from the 4th of July to set of a couple times a week. At 11pm...

3. Kidd-O is taking after Mr. Clean already by scrubbing the walls and floors with a wipe!! Mini Clean by day (please excuse the yucky camera phone pics)...4. Mini me by night.... This pics gives a whole new meaning to drive in movie! Extra points if you can name that movie!5. As if I didn't miss being pregnant enough already, I was asked to do a maternity shoot this weekend, and now my uterus won't shut up about it!6. My youngest brother is in Mississippi for a baseball tournament this week, so I'm the keeper of a couple of little sisters for a few days (I haven't a clue as to where my other siblings are). Apparently the team is kicking boo-tay (final 4 as of today) and may be on the telly this weekend! Lets Go Warriors! Tried and True Orange and Blue!

7. Since I have company, I put my nail painting skills to work again this week, but this time I had an entire "spa" open, complete with robes (one that really wasn't age appropriate, but we made it work), shower caps (I'm not quite sure why, but it seemed right), and sugar (because I don't have any fancy foot scrubs, so I thought sugar would have to do).8. Here's Kidd-O's newest face, it's a personal fave.9. Oh, PS, Kidd-O turns one on Saturday, so if you see me out and about with blood shot eyes lookin' like a hot mess, don't mind me, I'm just in mourning over my itty bitty wittle baby growin' up. That's all. Good Day and Good Night!

10. Because I'm caring for 3 kidlets this week, this is where we will part ways.

The Kid With the Funny Face...

Kidd-O's 1st Birthday is next week, and I have begun my trip down memory lane and thought I would share some of my favorite pictures with you.
Kidd-O has been such a joy to Mr. Clean and I, and he makes us laugh daily with a single look.
My kid makes THE BEST faces on this Earth.
I promise.
They are hilarious, sweet and sometimes they are faces only a mother could love,
and that's what makes them THE BEST!

I knew I had a ham on my hands at just 3 weeks! Even with that ugly baby acne and all, Kidd-O gave me a tiny hint as to what was to come. A smile.
And that was just the beginning of all of the smiles and expressions.
Here are just a few (yes, a few) of Kidd-O's famous faces:

The "if you come any closer and I'll slug ya" face.

The "I just woke up from a righteous nap" face.

The "How You Doin'?" Face

The "Mom, put that camera down and take this stupid scarf off my neck" face.
The "Hey baby, you lookin' good" face
The "You talkin to me? You talkin' to me?!" face.
The "I can't believe you let me stick my face in sand" face.

The "life really can't get any better than this" face.
The "Mom, can you put your camera down and put me to bed?" face.
The "Something smells funny, and I made that smell" face. The "where's the beef?" face.

The "man, that juice was good and I'd kill for more of it" face.
The "Shut the front door! I CAN NOT believe this is happening to me!" face.
And my favorite face of all, and the one that appears countless times a day, the "I'm lovin' life" face. It melts my heart and warms my soul. That's my boy.
