The Best of Times and the Worst of Times...

Well, the first of my summer adventures is in the books, but not without some exciting series of events. They were the best of times, they were the worst of times. It all started about an hour south of Atlanta in a city called Morrow. That is where I received my very first ticket...ever. And in commemoration of my first ticket, I made sure it was a doozie... 23 over in a construction zone. That's right folks! The fine is a whopping $809.75 with a grand total of 9 points tacked on to my insurance. Oh, but wait, it gets better! On our way home from Florida, I accidentally ran a toll booth. Oh, but wait, it gets better! I received my second speeding ticket ever on our way home. $178.50. Yay me....So yes, those few things put a ginormous, ugly, black cloud over my magical trip, but it wasn't all bad...I promise! We had a great time even though Disney World has NO CLUE what a recession is, due to the fact that their capacity was at 101%...I don't even know how that's possible! SOOOO, because of the ridiculous crowds, we opted to NOT go to the parks. It just didn't seem like a great idea with a 10 month old, an 86 year old, and 95 degree weather, with millions of people. So, what did we do, you might ask?? Well, I'll tell ya.

We visited with family before we went to the House of Mouse!
and when we finally arrived we:

We decorated cupcakes
We rode ponies...
We ate ice cream...
...lots of ice cream...
Actually, we ate A LOT in general!
We pressed pennies at just about every penny pressing location...
..and we got our faces painted!
We got lost in a land of toys!
Kidd-O had his first Mickey waffle...
and his first "Stitch Juice"...
...and his first lollipop...
...and his first roasted marshmallow!
We rode the carousel...and I felt pretty awful after...

We ate breakfast with some furry friends...
...watched movies beachside and then watched fireworks!
My boy got his first Mickey ears...
and attended his first dance party.

We swam a lot...
and we played on playgrounds.
We resort hopped...
...and we rode the monorail.
We ate Begniets while listening to Elliot Dyson...

And just plain old enjoyed that Disney air!

And I brought home one tired out boy...and 3 citations!

  2. I love that even with almost $1000 in tickets you still made this such a positive and exciting blog post! That really sucks but I'm glad you still managed to have a good time... and luckily when Cooper is old enough for you to show him pictures and tell him this story you won't even miss that money but the story will still be a great one!
