One...

ONE day...I was just pregnant and the next day I was your momma.

ONE day...you became a nephew

ONE day...you became a grandson

ONE day...you became a great grandson
ONE day...you became our son. Our baby. My baby.

ONE day...you were welcomed into this world
and everyone was excited to finally meet you.
ONE day...you smiled. Oh, do you smile.
I challenge anyone to find me a baby that has smiled MORE than you. They might smile as much, but I would bet money they don't smile more.
ONE day...I realized those stretch marks were there to stay, and my bellybutton had permanently relocated, but that it is oh-so-worth-it.
ONE day...you started to sleep through the night. I remember the last night I went in to feed you. I knew it might be the last, so I held you longer. Rocked you longer. That was it. Gone. In the blink of an eye.
ONE day...you sat up on your own. That day I was happy. I felt like I could get things done. Until...

ONE day...you began to crawl.
ONE day...you began to laugh. And it has been practically my life's mission to make sure you haven't stopped laughing yet.
ONE day...you put a silk flower in your mouth and choked, and then a candy wrapper, and then a marble, and I haven't gotten a good night's sleep since then.
ONE day...you captured your parents hearts. I never knew I could love you so much. I never knew that a piece of my heart could live outside of my body in the form of a lovely, spirited little boy.
ONE day...you began to walk. Each day gaining more independence.
I haven't had a moments rest since.
But that's ok, I'll relax when you're older.
And until then I will soak up every ounce of your childhood,
because ONE day you'll be grown, and this will all be just a sweet memory.
But on this day you are ONE.
And we are celebrating your birth and we are thanking our gracious heavenly Father
for blessing us with you.
Happy Birthday to my little angel baby,
my lump of love,
my stinky face.
We love you more than you could ever know!
